The weather up on the moor yesterday was fantastic! I had done a drawing the day before and an under painting so was able to take advantage of a sunny day to enjoy the wonderful peace there is up there and work on the painting. The colours where similar to the previous day – Rough Tor looking deep purple with the land seeming to glow gold. The cattle were grazing enjoying the last few days before they are brought in for the winter.
We always look forward to the autumn cattle drive. Many people are needed to bring them down to the farm. Some ride on horseback others on quad bikes or in Land Rovers. The cattle arrive tired with steam rising from their backs and make their way to the water troughs to drink.
All part of the moorland life cycle.
Such a peaceful day.
