The morning was lovely. The air was a bit warmer so I was able to get out into the garden and pull up a few more weeds without feeling that I had to have a coat on. We had expected the best of the weather before lunch and right on cue the sky darkened and then came the thunder. For a while I stayed outside hearing the thunder claps over the moor – and for a while there was no rain. Then came the lightning which was a bit too close for comfort! The rain, when it came, was torrential, hitting the ground with such force that it bounced up off the paving. I finally got inside to get lunch to find that there was no power but that didn’t last long and the all important cup of tea was not missed.
The storm passed over and in the sunshine afterwards the colours were so intense and the raindrops glistened. All so beautiful!
